Cup of Gold, a Life of Sir Henry Morgan, Buccaneer, with Occasional Reference to History

New York; (1936): Covici-friede. Octavo. Item #024148

. 2nd edition. 269 pp. Steinbeck's first novel. It is a wild tale based on the life of the king of freebooters, Sir Henery Morgan. It differs much from his Tortilla Flat or In Dubious Battle. A very nice copy bound in dark blue cloth pictorially stamped in blind depicting a ship, pictorial spine gilt, some off-setting to endpapers, evidence of a bookplate removal to front pastedown, in clipped pictorial dust jacket which makes mention of "The author of...Of Mice and Men" and no publisher given at the foot of dust jacket, overall, very light wear.
