Sir Bob
New York; (1930): Harcourt, Brace & Company. First Edition. Octavo. Item #024057
202 pp. Beautifully illustrated in black and white by Lynd Ward. A Story for Children from Nine to Ninety. The book is described as a whimsical "tall story," suggesting the adventures are imaginative and light-hearted such as: Sir Bob's chickens are hypnotized, which initiates the main problem of the story. The goal of their journey is to locate and retrieve a golden feather. The golden feather is being held "hostage" by a huge monster that is "doing an impression of a largish town bird". Bound in orange cloth pictorially stamped in black, spine lettering black, two corners lightly bumped with another bump along the bottom edge of upper board, top edge green, in a clipped color pictorial dust jacket with some chipping to spine ends, corners and tiny tears to edges. A very good copy.
