Letters and Journals of Lord Byron with Notices of His Life

London: John Murray, 1833. Octavo. Item #023972

Third edition in 3 volumes. Vol. I: Frontispiece, 614 pp. Illustrated with 16 engravings. Vol. II: Frontispiece, 612 pp. illustrated with 13 engravings (of 14, lacks Malta plate) and Vol. III: Frontispiece, 628 pp. illustrated with 14 engravings with the directions for the binder. Byron was an English poet and one of the major figures of the Romantic movement. He was, of course, famous for his pretentious good looks and his brilliant, reckless personality. A lovely set bound in 3/4 red morocco over marbled paper covered boards, raised bands with compartments lettered and decorated in gilt, top edges gilt, just a touch of faint foxing to a few outer margins. A very handsome set.

Price: $750.00
