Frontis piece with tissue guard present. 284 pp. illustrated with photographic images by Kermit Roosevelt. This is the record of the adventurous journey of the two Roosevelt Brothers. It was originally called The James-Roosevelts-Field Museum Expedition. Traveling in the heart of the Himalayas, sometimes 17,000 feet high in search of the Ovis Poli, the famous Marco Polo sheep. A very good copy bound in dark blue cloth stamped in gilt depicting a sheep's head, spine lettering gilt, one corner bumped, previous owner's embossed stamp,, small name and address label to front pastedown, small taped article about the retirement of Lieut. Colonel Archibald Roosevelt, and a couple other small remnants of tape, in an unclipped but very worn and chipped pictorial dust jacket.
