Originally, this title was published by Random House in 1955. The present work is set during the 1950s in the city of Fez, Morocco during the nationalist uprising against French colonial rule. The Spider’s House has been widely recognized as the most political of Bowles’s novels. Bound in 1/4 blue-green cloth over orange paper covered boards lettered and decorated in brown, red, yellow and blue-green paper spine label lettered in red and brown. A fine sharp cornered copy.
