The author presents those authors of a variety of the great early Herbal books published. such as Herbarium of Apuleius, A Saxton Herbal, Gerard's Herball along with Thomas Shirley's The Curious Distillatory, The English Physician, Theatrum Botanicum and others. Bound in beige cloth centrally stamped in gilt depicting a plant, spine lettering gilt, some light finger soiling to cloth, offsetting to free endpapers. A very nice copy.
