The author explains why Italian Villa gardens are so beautiful. Italian architects always took the landscape into consideration before building a home which was almost always on a hillside. Everything must connect to each other and flow seamlessly. The fountains, terraces, shade, sun, etc. A lovely copy bound in full green pictorial cloth accented in white, green, blue, brown and dark green and lavishly accented in gilt, spine gilt designed by the Decorative Designers. top edge gilt, only an occasional spot of foxing with the exception of page 5 which shows a few more spots, previous owner's gift inscription dated Dec. 25 and 24th 1908. A near fine copy.
