Rosalind was the daughter of Laura Elizabeth Howe Richards who authored more than eighty books and granddaughter of Julia Ward Howe, the author of the Battle Hymn of the Republic. Henry was an American writer and naturalist, best known as the author of The Outermost House, written in 1925. He joined the French army in 1915 and served as an ambulance driver. In 1918 he became a press representative for the U.S. Navy. Color frontispiece, 353pp. illustrated by Fritz Kredel with black and blue illustrations. Bound in red pictorial gilt cloth, spine gilt, top edge yellow, some fading to spine. A very good copy in early mylar cover.
