Two separate title pages each with frontispieces, illustrated with 12 other full-page illustrations, 2 full pages of music, 3 vignette head pieces and several in text illustrations of various types of fish (includes river-fish, and of the implement used in angling, views of the principal scenes described in the book, and notes, historical, critical, and explanatory). In two parts: The First Part written by Mr. Izaak Walton, The Second by Charles Cotton, to which are now prefixed, the Lives of the Authors. Bound in full contemporary calf double ruled in gilt, earlier rebacking to style, raised bands and lettering gilt, corners somewhat worn, rubbing to upper joints, scattered foxing but mostly clean, with bookplate of [John Campbell], 3rd Earl of Breadalbane and Holland, along with another bookplate positioned on the rear pastedown that of Clarise Berky. A very nice copy.
