This work was brought together in the order planned by the author form one connected study of Italian culture at a certain period of history, still each aims at a completeness of its own, and each can be read independently of its companions. A lovely set from the library of Harry Coulby, a British businessman who became the shipping magnate of the great lakes. He soon became known as the "Czar of the Great Lakes". Beautifully bound by Zaehnsdorf in full red straight grained Morocco double ruled in gilt, raised bands brown morocco spine labels gilt, all other compartments fully gilt decorated, marbled endpapers, gilt decorated turn-ins, top edges gilt, light rubbing to joints with tiny bit of wear to spine ends with chip to head of volume 6.
