Frontispiece by T. Dighton, 406pp. Possibly written by Baron A.H. de Jomini as noted by the British Museum. A story of fantasy of Napoleon and his afterlife. The creator takes him on a tour visiting heaven and hell and all in between. A handsome copy bound by Zahnsdorf in full red polished calf, board edges double ruled in gilt raised bands with compartments stamped in gilt depicting the bee and eagle, green morocco spine label gilt, marbled endpapers, top edge gilt, some chipping to lower edge of frontispiece, toning to title page. From the library of Alfred S. Austrian (1870-1932) who was a Chicago lawyer for the White Sox. Comiskey was aided and abetted by Austrian during the Black Sox Affair. And, of collector Walter L. Darling with their bookplates.
