Atlanta, GA: The Foote and Davies Co., 1900. Octavo. Item #022559
Second edition. 439pp. This memoir was written by Pickett’s wife. She wrote of those events that were reported by eye-witnesses and participants. She wrote her story based on men in the war not of particular color, gray or blue. In the battle at Five Forks, Pickett lost more men in thirty minutes than we lost, all told, in the recent Spanish American war showing unsurpassed bravery with which Picket fought. A very good copy bound in light blue cloth lettered in gilt, spine lettering gilt, rubbing to upper joint, spine ends and corners, some light finger soiling.
