In three volumes. Frontispieces, Vol I: xii, 477pp., 10 maps(some folding) and a photographic image of Queen Anne tipped in on verso of title page. Vol. II: xiv(xv), 468pp., 10 maps (some folding). and Vol III: xviii[xix- xxi], 383pp., 6 maps (some folding). He has left everything Scottish, everything Irish and most things Colonial out of volume one as these subject can be better treated en bloc at a later stage. The author did not want to distract the reader by having foot notes at the end of every page so he listed them at the end of each volume. Volume two is titled The Peace and the Protestant Succession and volume three is titled Ramillies and the Union of Scotland. Bound in green cloth, spine lettering gilt, spines just a bit faded, previous owner's bookplate in volume one and two but without a name, a few corners lightly bumped. A very good set.
