Among the thousands murdered during the French Revolution, one of the most notorious was that of the death of the Princess de Lamballe, friend of Queen Marie-Antoinette. Bound in full modern brown paneled leather, raised bands with panels decoratively paneled in blind, new endpapers, red leather label gilt, small edge tear with old repair, one map with closed edge tear, browning to some page edges. A very uncommon work locating only one copy of this 1811 edition in the reference library of the British Library.
