New York; (1903): G.W. Dillingham Co. First Edition. Octavo. Item #022350
First printing. 444(1)pp. illustrated by F.N. Marchand and Will Crawford. The story of a real pirate. Morgan was the greatest of all pirates; a man unique among his nefarious brethren, in that he played the piratical game so successfully that he received the honor of knighthood from King Charles II. While Morgan was a brutal, lustful, murderous villain and robber, the author imagined "his" pirate to be a romantic as well. A fine bright copy bound in green pictorial cloth lettered and decorated in white and black, spine lettering gilt, top edge red. No names or bookplates. A very nice copy.
