Illustrated throughout containing 40 full page engravings, 33 mounted color plates of Highland tartans and over 200 textual wood engravings and maps. Elaborately bound in red pictorial gilt cloth accented in black, spines and all edges gilt. An exceptionally handsome and beautifully bright set, nearly fine with previous owner's name in first volume only and spines with just a hint of fading, only an occasional spot of foxing. All volumes with early clear mylar jackets for protection. A superb set.
