Pollard, a well known scholar who has written much on the Civil War presents facts, not fiction. This is his narrative. Bound in 3/4 brown calf over marbled paper covered boards, raised bands, compartments stamped in blind, brown leather label lettered in gilt, all edges marbled with matching endpapers. An occasional scattering of foxing but more so to plates. A very good copy with small damp stain to gutter near foot of a few leaves. [Howes-p455].
