Lee and Longstreet at High Tide. Gettysburg in the Light of the Official Records

Gainsville, Ga: The Author, 1904. First Edition. Large Octavo. Item #022150

346pp., illustrated. The General died Jan, 2, 1904 just after this book went to print in the fall of 1903. This is the story culled from his memoirs of the war, "Manassas to Appomattox, from his stores of knowledge in the military art, and his treasure-house of memories of the Titanic encounter on the field of Gettysburg. Bound in light brown cloth lettered and decorated in black, spine lettering black, top edge gilt, some soiling or rubbing to binding. This book appears to have been either re-cased or simply had the endpapers replaced as they appear to be far too clean to be the original. A very good copy.
