A study of Ross's poetry reveals the fact that he was influenced by his great contemporary, Robert Burns. MacKenzie has been the only editor of Ross's songs. He issued three editions. These are called A,B,C, and this, the 1937 D. He gives the history of each edition with their changes and the life of William Ross. A near fine copy bound in brown cloth, spine lettering gilt, in in printed tan dust jacket with some toning to edges along with a few chips to edges and spine ends.
