The illustrations show the midnight sky in London each moth of the year, the midnight sky of the southern hemisphere, telescope views, positions of stars and their rotation, apparent path of Jupiter, meteor showers and much, much more. Bound in maroon cloth central gilt pictorial title surrounded by astrological signs over blue background, spine lettered and decorated in gilt, some staining to cloth, light wear to two corners, a bit of scattered foxing to first and last few leaves otherwise internally clean and bright. Previous owner's name dated 1872.
