First printing. 88pp., illustrated by the author. The author's first children's book. This is the story of Phunsi, a Zebra who was trapped with his mother and shipped to America. Phunsi was and extraordinary, Zebra. He could run so fast. He and his mother were shipped to the zoo in Centeal Park in New York. Phunsi was very adventurous so he managed to get out of the zoo to travel the streets of New York. He met many friends along the way. A near fine copy bound in dark blue cloth pictorially stamped in light blue depicting Phunsi, spine lettering light blue, in unclipped dust jacket with a zebra pattern, lettering red,, Jacket showing only minor were to corners and spine ends, small closed tear to upper edge of front panel. Very nice with no owner's names or bookplates.
