Volume 2: Employment for the Microscope. xx, 442pp., (10)pp. index. 17 engraved folding plates. In 1740 baker was elected fellow of the Society of Antiquaries and of the Royal Society. In 1744, Baker received the Copley gold medal for microscopical observations on the crystallization of saline particles. Bound in full calf, nicely rebacked to style retaining original red morocco spine labels gilt, spines numbered (newly imprinted label?) endpapers renewed, internally clean and bright wiout foxing or off-setting.
