Ferguson's textbook was one of the first in English to deal extensively with mechanics and hydraulics and went through numerous editions until well into the 19th century. Bound in modern 3/4 brown leather over marbled paper covered boards, raised bands, lettering withing compartments gilt, uncut and partially unopened, expert repair to palte IV and plate I of supplement. One inch tearf to plate v, two hairline tears to plate VII of supplement. A handsome and interesting book.
