The author writes about the people who immigrated from various countries, the founding of Manhattan, Indian troubles, the reanrangement of lands, the Hughenots and more beginning from the early 17th century. A lovely copy bound in publisher's blue-green cloth decoratively stamped in blind, spine lettering gilt, brown coated endpapers, one crease to a corner, early owner's name to title page, light wear to foot, minor soiling.
