xvi, 598pp., handsomely bound by Riviere in 3/4 brown morocco over light brown cloth, raised bands with compartments lettered and decorated in gil, all edges gilt, marbled endpapers, internally fresh and bright. The author contributed to The Sporting Magazine, eventually his stories would be published in book form. His books became so popular, they continued to be republished through the 20th century. Very nice.
