Catalog for rigs, rambler rigs, masts & substructures, mud pumps, rotaries, block, swivels winches and oilfield supplies. Each section divided and thumb indexed, also includes eight 8" x 10" black and white photographs of various rigs and equipment. A good copy with owner's stamps. Solomon Dresser developed the "packer" which he began advertising and selling in 1880. Following Dresser's death, his descendants decided to sell it. In 1928 the firm was made into a public company by issuing 300,000 shares of stock. Dresser later merged with many other companies including its main rival Halliburton and later became known as Halliburton Company. Because of a lawsuit against Halliburton, Dresser moved on and eventually was purchased by General Electric Co. who agreed to purchase for $3 billion. The Dresser brand operates in more than 60 countries today.
