In six volumes, first published in 1792. This collection of children stories was published in various formats and reprinted several times and in several editions revised. Each story was to be read each night through 30 nights, each volume with a table of contents. bound in marbled paper covered boards backed in a green dyed vellum, paper spine labels. With the bookplates of John Mark Gourgas within each volume, a descendant of a noble Huguenot family. He once owned the William Farley home is in Weston, Ma. and one of the oldest homes in the country dating 1757. Gourgas died in 1845. The house was sold and occupied by the same family, with children, for the next 62 years. A very nice set.
