Original photogravure on Japan tissue from Curtis’s The North American Indian. Folio Plate #124, sepia tone. Plenty Coupes was of the Mountain Crow of the Whistle Water Clan. Because of his achievements which were never surpassed by anyone in his tribe, he became Chief of the tribe in 1903 after the death of Pretty Eagle. Archivally framed in a frame made of real tobacco leaves.
