Air to Air, Volume I, Signed By Arnold Palmer and Nicely Inscribed By Paul Bowen to Joyce Carter

Kansas: Northshore Press, 1998. First Edition. Quarto. Item #018992

Volume I. 226 pages, hundreds of photographs by Paul Bowen with his marvelous account of flying with a long introduction by Arnold Palmer who has also signed it boldly with eight colorful pictures of Arnie, his planes, and his friends. When Arnie died in October of 2016, the world lost a great golfer but a remarkable gentleman. What Arnie did for golf is amazing but it was when he began to fly that he not only traveled to tournaments and for the first time was well rested but allowed him along with Ed Seay to design more than 200 courses throughout the world. He tells how Business jets became essential to him and then describes the joy of having flown over 55,000 hours and his friendship with Paul Bowen. The photographs taken by Paul Bowen of planes and his friends is a delight as well as how a pilot discovers the beauty of each new plane. A marvelous book that is collectible not just for the golfer with Arnie's signature but also to see the joy of flying for the businessman. Inscribed by the author to Joyce Carter an Arizona artist. Bound in black cloth lettered in gilt, spine lettering gilt. A fine copy in fine unclipped dust jacket.
