New York: Duenewald Printing Corporation, 1941. Folio. Item #018742
72p A relatively scarce item that was noted in the 1942 Educational News as "an outstanding anthology of artistic expression." These were pupils in the New York's junior high schools. The examples include more than watercolor but oil, charcoal, pen-and-ink drawing, pottery, sculpture, batik, music and literary compositions. Some made impacts in various ways. On page 12 Arthur Okun became a leading economist promulgating Okun's law (his work is entitled 'Harbor Scene"). On P. 40 is William Fochi's work of an African-American fellow student. His paintings of the Bronx done a decade later have recently been discovered and shown at recent exhibits. Amazing talent by such young students. Bound in pictorial heavy card backed with plastic comb, only lightly rubbed. A very nice copy.
