4 volume set in fine condition (1993-1998). Vol. 1-2 cover Graberverzeichnis; Vol. 3-4 Die Grabstine, 1750-1850. German text. The cementaries of the Jewish communities at Endingen and Lengnau were buried on a small island in the Rhine at Koblenz. (in pocket of Vol. 1 the folded map shows the locations of the graves. The island had the Jews of the County of Baden but flooding had caused problems. The Judenaule in 1812 purchased the land for all time. The gravestones began to fall into disrepair toward the end of the 19th Century, and grave stones were often stolen by local residents for building purposes. The rebuilding of the memorial unfortunately used shoddy materials and began to show cracks in the concrete stelae but Holocaust Memorial has not only fared better has been restored with attention to remains from the Holocaust.
