He became the youngest sheriff in Texas at age 27 in 1888, was gunned down in 1923 still wearing a badge. He was a member of the Texas Rangers, Arizona Rangers, Chief of Police in Roswell, NM, personal bodyguard for Col. Green during the 1906 mining strike and much more . 285pp., bound in brown cloth lettered in gilt, spine lettering gilt. A fine bright copy in fine pictorial dust jacket. Very nice.
