292p. index. From his major role in the Indian Wars culminating at Big Dry Wash. He went from Fort McDowell accompanied by scouts Mickey Free, Al Sieber in what became a major engagement. He served directly under General Crook and Lieutenant Gatewood in the campaign to capture Geronimo. He distinguished himself later in the Spaish-American War and even was part of the international force to quell the Boxer Rebellion. A very nice copy of an important biography of one of the major forces in the period 1870-1900. Bound in blue cloth lettered in gilt, spine lettering gilt, light rubbing to spine ends. A very good copy.
