Ken White was a newspaper and radio personality in Denver in the late 1940's. Among the items in this collection addressed to him are: (1) 1tls. A Typed Letter Signed from Bob Hope on his letterhead, October 19, 1948, discusses a college poll hinting a religious attack. Speaks of mixup because of photographs because of an unnamed Denver "tightwad". Includes playful picture of Hope strangling Ken White. Also discusses a boil he got but says his golf game was better perhaps because of the altitude; (2) 1tls.Typed Letter signed from Bob Hope on his letterhead. November 9, 1948 discusses plight of Republicans in California after Truman's suprise victory in 1948...says now he may "start playing the black keys" (a reference to Civil Rights). (3) 1tls, Typed Letter on CBS letterhead signed by Edward R. Murrow (as "Ed") regarding their failure to meet when Murrow was in Denver and a script by White he felt would be better on a regional rathern than network station; (4) 34 page mimeographed radio script for KLZ station January 17, 1947. Marked Durante at top and inscribed below: "To Ken, Thanks for Everything, Jimmy Durante". A group of colorful Christmas cards from Bob Hope's family as well as Bing Crosby, Arthur Godfrey, Sammy Kaye, Ted Mack, Edgar Bergen and his pals Charlie and Mortimer.
