vi, 376p. A nice copy bound in half blue polished calf of an important book in the history of engineering. Massey served as an engineer for the US Navy in the Spanish American War and then again in World War I. His work is noted in the Literature of Agriculture, A9. Extensive plans (fold outs), of hydraulic dredge, especially as used for mining gold, copper, including the dipper dredge, very scarce with nice plates. Minor marginal damp stain in lower corners else a fine copy.
