John Sloan (inscribed by Sloan to his Taos Friend Josephine Eckert)

Inscribed "to my dear Josephine S. Eckert, Remember the Happy Days in Old Santa Fe, August & September 1940)," John Sloan (double signed on flyleaf). Though he had previously been published as an illustrator, this was the first book devoted to his art. Several of his works of art have noted when in museums or in the hands of a private collector. His Night Windows is in the book and a 1910 etching of the work done by him was also dedicated to her. She was a prominent friend and parton of the artists of Santa Fe in the 1930-1940 period. Bound in maerbled paper covered boards back in black cloth, pper label to upper board and spine. Spine label mostly gone but lettering still visible, some chipping and fraying with wear through to joints, toning to boards.
