Gotheborg, Norway: Samuel Norberg, 1782. 16mo - over 5¾" - 6¾" tall. Item #016073
76p. The Swedish translation of Einer Tambeskilver (1772). The original Norwegian edition is very rare and OCLC locates one copy in Munich. Early translations into Swedish and Danish are uncommon. This play was a major factor in bringing Snorri's name before the Norwegian public. It was the first published Swedish tragedy that swept the nation and was quickly translated throughout Northern Europe and led to the publications of the great Norse legends in multi-volume sets. A scarce item in very good condition in original wrappers.
