#46 of 100 copies on Japon, inscribed by the author to his American friends Mr. and Mrs. Reginald Rives and dated 1929. 62pp., illustrated by photograph, bound in 3/4 red morocco over red cloth, raised bands with compartments lettered and decorated in a floral gilt, marbled endpapers, top edge gilt, upper joints lightly rubbed, light wear to corners. A very nice copy. This book was dedicated to the American architect M. Whitney Warren, who was commissioned to rebuilt the University of Louvain. Monetary donations around the world helped rebuilt the Louvain and it holdings including donations of books. Those books the Germans pillaged during the war were also given back by a carload each month until all would be returned.
