Designed by Frank Walts, an important African-American artist, who illustrated liberated women for the covers of The Masses in the period 1917-1918. W.E.B. DuBois referred to him as "that thoughtful clear-eyed artist" who was considered too black by those who merely wanted integration for African-Americans. A pristine unused bookplate of Anita Loos depicting a smiling young woman with her eyes closed with yellow blouse, blue had. He also designed theater posters for the New York Theater Guild.
