The author here has experimented in writing short stories such as depicting the physical aspects of some striking and almost momentary incident, in order to get the full dramatic and emotional effects by vividness and tension. Prey, birth, the oar and the blackbird's mate are just a few examples. A very nice copy bound in green cloth, spine lettering gilt, boards have faded as usual but spine is bright with just a bit of sunning to spine ends, in a beautiful pictorial dust jacket designed by MKM. Just a few tiny chips to head of spine and corners. Very nice.
