2nd Edition, early printing. 380p. Glossary, Bibliography, Brief bibliographies of Police Generals. Germany did not have a national police force until 1920 when it was formed by the Weimar regime. The Nazis were instrumental in its further development. The duites performed by the Ordnungspolzei were the same as those performed by any other country in peace time. However, when war came these men were expected to deal with the same ruthlessness of the SS in enforcing the Nazi decrees. They helped raise and man 2 Waffen-SS Division. The book shows in exact detail the organization from the beginning to the end of World War II.
