Fort Worth; (1966): Texas Christian University Press. First Edition. Octavo. Item #008812
First printing. 153 pp. Inscribed by author. TCU Monographs in History and Culture #1. The roll of the horse in the settlement of the American West is a popular theme in American history. There have been many studies of the introduction of blooded horse into the Eastern colonies, and the development and spread of Thoroughbred racing into Tennessee and Kentucky. Until the present study, however, little attention has been paid to the advent of the Thoroughbred horses to Texas. A near fine copy bound in pictorial brown paper wraps lettered and decorated in black, spine lettering black. Very nice.
