In two volumes, 272 and [273]-530pp. The large paper edition of 100 copies. The present copy is number 15 and signed by John Philip Edmond. Illustrated. The first half of the work (Chapters I-xx) ed by Mr. Edmond and based on Dr. Dickson's earlier studies, comprising (1) a series of articles on "Early Scottish Typography" in the Printer's Register, (2) Who was Scotland's first printer? 1881; (3) Introduction to the Art of Printing in Scotland, 1884. The second half of the other work (chap. XXI-XXXVIII) is by Mr. Edmond alone. The Larger Paper Edition is very scarce, and copies are recorded at U of Chicago, NY PL, and only two other institutions. Bound in original paper covered boards rebacked in cream paper, paper labels lettered in black, endpapers renewed, corners worn., staining or toning to board edges, internally fresh.
