In these two volumes she travels to South Africa, the Malay archipelago, the Sunda Islands and the Malukus [also written as Maluccas]. She also visited the Dyaks and the Batak and was the first person to report on their behavior. After a visit to Australia, she proceeded to California, Oregon, Peru, Ecuador, New Granada, the Great Lakes and home. Two years after this journey was completed she set out to explore Madagascar but contracted a disease (possibly Malaria) and died in Vienna in 1858. p. 328-329 have some fading from original silk bookmark which is still left with the volume. Very scarce in original binding.
