Seagram & Sons with their stamp,  in two volumes. quarto. Vol. I. xx, 587p, index; Vol. 2. xx, 650pp. index. Both volumes bound in maroon cloth, spines gilt, in dust jackets. The very scarce set which is the most comprehensive work on brewing. The combined work has nearly 1300 pages with text and folding illustrations. The author and subject indexes make this a work on which virtually every aspect of the subject can be accessed.

Signed by the author and the illustrator, 253pp., bound in gray cloth pictorially stamped in red depicting a cluster of grapes, pictorial spine lettered in red, previous owner's name and inscription otherwise a very nice copy in clipped pictorial dust jacket.

THE SOUTHERN COOK BOOK OF FINE OLD DIXIE RECIPES. H. Charles Kellum. Reading Pa: Culinary Arts, 1939. 8vo. Wood bound. Near Fine An early edition of a remarkably beautiful copy with original wood finish with black mammy serving a Turkey with rich colors of apron, scarf, etc. Interspersed between recipes are thirty-five images of blacks with sayings that are essentially racist. Example: There was a little Alabamy coon, Ah, he ain't been bron very long; oh dey took him down to dem cotton fields and he rolled an he tumbled in de sun, lacks the wear and scratches seen on most copies. The wood bound copies are now scarce.

Hollywood, CA: Published By the Author, 1938. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Cloth. Good 245p. index. A Who's Who of Hollywood Celebrities with their favorite recipes; From Amos and Andy (both of whom, of course, were white), Gene Autry, Lucile Ball, John Barrymore; Jack Benny, Humphrey Bogart, James Cagney, Claudette Colbert; Joan Crawford, Bette Davis, Olivia de Havilland, Marlene Dietrich, Errol Flynn, Henry Fonda, Clark gable, Judy Garland, Rita Hayworth, and two hundred others. A remarkable item that to which virtually everyone of note contributed not Garbo, of course, but an amazing list. Some were exotic dishes but many were the kind of prosaic dishes that were typical of middle America. A good copy with light wear at spine ends and corners, inside end papers have had ownership labels removed but text and photographs are clean throughout.

A Vintage Image Book, (Calif. 1978), 189pp., (1)pp ad, artwork by Sebastian Titus, Reviews by Jeffrey Caldewey,  uniquely bound in purple morocco over green suede stamped in gilt, spine lettering gilt, pink endpapers. A tour and description of all the wineries and vineyards in and around Napa Valley, along with their history and production. Spine just a bit sunned, previous owners small address label. A very nice copy.
