In two volumes, to which is prefixed a vindication of his character and conduct form the misrepresentations of Lord Clarendon, by his Lineal Descendant and Present Representative. portrait frontispiece, Vol. I. 412pp, Vol. II. 180pp. ccxvii index. bound in 3/4 calf over marbled paper covered boards, raised bands gilt, red morocco labels gilt, edges sprinkled red, minor spots of rubbing and just a bit of chipping to head of vol. I. A very nice, clean set.

Walker and 130 illustrations by William Patten and others, finely bound by Ramage of London in 3/4 brown morocco over cloth stamped in gilt, spine lettering gilt, marbled endpapers, all edges gilt. A beautiful copy.

Bound in full calf, board edges ruled and decorated in gilt and blind with corner devices, raised bands with ornate gilt floral design within compartments, with gilt letters on red label, marbled endpapers, all edges gilt, occasional pencil notations in margins, light off-setting to a few plate, binding just a bit rubbed. A very good copy.

Cadell, 1785. 2nd revised edition with additions and corrections. 8vo. viii, [9]-520pp. A remarkably fine copy with bookplate of Seton of Ekolsmund. Wallace's corrected Peerage, of course, still is essential for not only for showing how the peerages arose but the intense religious, clan, and territorial aspects of Scottish history.
